In an excerpt from his autobiographical narrative, A Summer Existence, Gary Matorral confesses to his guilt about sinning, temptation, and gluttony of overindulgence by using a blameworthy tone supported by imagery and symbolism. By making use of imagery, mcdougal depicts a photo of Floresta overindulging if he is greedily gobbling up his bad thing. After Johnny witnesses Soto's fingers " push big chunks of pie straight down his can range f, " this individual decides to request a piece, but Mara?a denies him a quantity with the pie because he is being acquisitive. To Floresta, the pie symbolizes knowledge because it represents an apple that got " Eve in to deep difficulties with snakes. " Through the symbol, the writer can consider that Mara?a is now afraid by realizing that since Hersker and Eve were reprimanded, he will be too. Floresta learns coming from digesting the pie that every sins include consquences. This individual declares not going to bliss isn't what he is scared of most. He is more afraid of " being parched for the rest of his life. " The author's usage of symbolism and imagery demonstrates his guilt of sinning. At the beginning of the story, Floresta " sneaks a quiche behind [his] coffeelid Frisbee" and saunters out of the retail store pretending that he didn't just take something. To Soto, the frisbee is a symbol of sin mainly because when he punches "[his] frisbee across the street, " it represents Soto planning to dispose of his sin. This individual feels guilty even though this individual believes " that the greatest things is obviously come stolen. " After he is done consuming the pie, this individual watches because " the pie tin rolls apart. " Matorral then realizes that " sin is what you required and did not give back. " The author describes temptation through the support of images and significance. Soto's tempation is uncovered when he " nearly wepts, " on his decision of what quiche to steal. The pie symbolizes temptation to Soto if he states that his " sweet teeth [was] clean. " It can significant as the thought of the pie tempts Soto in sinning if he...
