Branch Type: Combat Arms Birthday: The Army initially used light aircraft for artillery ahead observation and reconnaissance in June 1942. Following the institution of the ALL OF US Air Force as being a separate assistance in 1947, the Army began to even more develop its own aviation resources (light airplanes and rotary wing aircraft) in support of surface operations. The Korean Warfare gave this drive impetus, and the war in Vietnam saw it is fruition, while Army aviation units performed a variety of tasks, including investigation, transport, and fire support. After the warfare in Vietnam, the function of informed helicopters as tank destroyers received new emphasis. In recognition of the grown importance of aviation in Army regle and operations, Aviation started to be a separate part on 12 April 1983. Modern Armed service aviation was developed on six June 1942; a few months after the United States entered World War II. Throughout the war, and for a long period afterwards, Army aviation was called organic and natural Army aviation. This was completed distinguish it from the Army Air Force also because its plane and personnel were organic to battalions, brigades, and divisions in the Army Earth Forces.
