UNIVERSITY OF THOUGHTS:

Describe and explain a persons mind and behavior began. The different schools of psychology represent the major hypotheses within psychology. The 1st school of thought, structuralism, was advocated by the founder of the first psychology laboratory,  Wilhelm Wundt. Almost right away, other theories began to come out and strive for dominance in mindset. In the past, specialists often recognized themselves exclusively with a single school of thought. Today, most psychologists have an varied outlook on psychology. They frequently draw in ideas and theories via different schools rather than possessing to any novel outlook. Listed below are some of the major schools of thought which may have influenced our knowledge and understanding of mindset: Structuralism and Functionalism

Structuralism was the 1st school of psychology, and focused on digesting mental techniques into the simplest components. Key structuralist thinkers include Wilhelm Wundt and Edward Titchener. The focus of structuralism was on lowering mental techniques down into their most basic elements. Structuralists employed techniques such as introspection to investigate the inner processes of the human mind. Functionalism formed as a a reaction to the theories of the structuralist school of thought and was heavily influenced by the work of William James. Main functionalist thinkers included John Dewey and Harvey Carr. Instead of concentrating on the mental processes themselves, functionalist thinkers were instead interested in the role the particular processes perform. Behaviorism
